Pre-Employment Medical & Workplace Health FAQ
Common questions about our workplace health services, pricing, and how we work with businesses across Sydney.
Our pre-employment functional assessments evaluate a candidate's physical capacity to safely perform the demands of a specific role. This includes strength testing, range of motion, cardiovascular fitness, manual handling ability, and job-specific functional tasks. We also offer instant drug and alcohol testing, which can be combined with the physical assessment for a streamlined hiring process. We tailor each assessment to the role's physical demands. Results are typically available within 24-48 hours.
Standard turnaround is 24-48 hours from the assessment. For urgent hiring needs, we can arrange same-day or next-day results — just let us know when you book. We send a clear report that rates the candidate fit, fit with restrictions or unfit for the role, with any recommendations or restrictions noted.
Yes — all our services can be delivered on-site at your workplace across Sydney. This includes pre-employment assessments, drug and alcohol testing, ergonomic assessments, injury management, and manual handling training. On-site service minimises downtime for your team and avoids the need to send workers off-site.
Every job gets one fixed quote before we arrive, based on how many people need testing and when. On-site testing is available for pre-employment, random, incident response, or for-cause screening. Contact us for a quote tailored to your numbers.

Tell us the service, how many workers and where your site is. For pre-employment assessments, send the job description or job task analysis too. If you don't have one, we can develop it for you.
All of Sydney. We come to your workplace anywhere in the Sydney metropolitan area, from the CBD to Western Sydney, the North Shore, South West Sydney, the Inner West and the Northern Beaches.
Our physiotherapy team, led by an AHPRA registered physiotherapist. We test each person against the physical demands of their actual role, not a general fitness standard.
Most take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the role. Roles with heavy lifting take longer than desk-based roles, and we can assess several candidates in one visit.
It helps, but you don't need one to start. A job task analysis lets us match the assessment to the real demands of the role. If you don't have one, we can develop it or work from a detailed job description.
Urine and oral fluid (saliva) drug tests and breath alcohol tests, done at your workplace. Each test takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Urine and breath tests give preliminary results on the spot, and any non-negative result can be sent to an accredited laboratory for confirmation.
A functional capacity evaluation (FCE) measures what a worker can safely do against the demands of their job. It usually takes 3 to 4 hours, covers lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sustained postures and grip strength, and ends in a report with clear return-to-work recommendations.
A standard session runs 1 to 2 hours, with theory and hands-on practice using your own tasks and equipment. For larger teams we can run several shorter sessions, or 20 to 30 minute toolbox talks for refreshers. Every participant receives a certificate of completion.
About 20 to 30 minutes per person, at their own desk, workstation or vehicle. We can assess one employee or a whole team, make adjustments on the spot where possible, and send a written report with the recommended changes.
